ESL comments on VAC ban policy

ESL issued a statement to shed light on recent changes in their policy regarding banned VAC ban on a professional level.

HLTV.org reported on Thursday that the ESL decided to allow banned VAC players to participate in the Pro League, ESL One and IEM events, provided that at least two years have passed since the ban was issued.

The Twitlonger ESL website explains that this change is aimed at "creating consistency for all future bans on all platforms in CSGO", adding that players caught by their own anti-cheating technology (ESL Wire) were always not allowed to compete for a certain period of two years.

ESL also responded to allegations of double standards in disciplinary action taken against players who received VAC, compared to players participating in match-fixing matches.

The German company admits that the use of "consistent and meaningful punishment for integrity violations" is still "an extremely complex and multifaceted" problem, but stresses that it will take part in the discussion of this topic with the relevant parties.
