Sweden will introduce e-sports in the school curriculum

In the next academic year, the school will add three Swedish e-sport in the curriculum. Students will learn to play in Dota 2 and CS: GO.

One of the schools has already announced that it will conduct internal tournaments.

"The education system needs to educate their children in today's society and meet the realities of the present day. Our initiative with eSports - a good step in this direction ", - said chairman of the Council for Education and Employment in Stockholm, Ibrahim Khalifa.

Alehed Magnus, director of a school, told the Swedish media that the Board of Education "some members frowning noses and did not understand how we can allow children to play video games in the classroom." According to Magnus, he and like-minded people "are going to kill the myth that video games - evil".

This is not the first attempt to introduce e-sports in the education system. In 2014, the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sport, Youth and Tourism opened a set of students on specialization "Theory and methods of computer sport." In the same year, South Korea's Chung-Ang University has announced that it will begin enrolling professional competitive players without competition.
